How to Organize Your Home - 4 Essential Tips

How many times have you promised yourself that you would fix your home, but you were disappointed with how much time and effort it would take? You’re surrounded by things that you know need to be organized, but the task seems so daunting that you feel useless even to begin with. You will wait later, telling yourself, when you have more time and can clean everything at once.

I know where you come from. I am a very bad mouse, but at the same time I am very affected by the environment in which I live. When I am in a clean, well-organized, comfortable environment, I feel strong and at peace. When I am in a cramped, overcrowded room, I feel depressed and at the edge. Having a well-planned area is an important part of having peace of mind.

How do I move from being a mouse to living in an organized environment? However, I have worked in many NYC offices and studio locations over the past year. Part of my job was to plan. And in NYC, he's very tight in space. I had to help organize the smallest, most crowded places, and to plan the most chaotic and dirty places.

1. Start small. I can't stress enough this - even the smallest, seemingly insignificant thing - like picking up loose paper on the floor, or putting that salt printer in the closet - is the most important thing to start with. Getting started is certainly the hardest part of getting rid of clutter.


2. Decide what you want to make the room feel like. Go to the door or corner of the room and look around. What do you see that you would like to change? How do you want to feel when you sign in? Think carefully about how you would like to use the room and how you want the room to make you feel.
3. Don't be afraid to make big changes in the room. One of the most important things I learned while working in one of the offices was that, in order to make the room more orderly, we would often have to make the room more comfortable first. This may be counterproductive, but it is a very productive way to get rid of clutter.


For example, in one small office, we had a three-story ceiling. Each shelf was a nightmare - full of old papers, handwritten notes, yellow dusty newspaper articles - and heavy, obsolete sound equipment - all covered with dust and dirt. It was dirty!

But we were able to clean it quickly and effectively. The key was to take everything off the shelves, throw away what we did not need, and return only the items on the shelves that we needed. Some went into storage. Everything was now well organized and clean, and we all felt better with the space.

4. Do not give up. You must not separate them all at once. Don't hold back. Focus on how much you have done, not how much you have to do. Now you have learned quick, easy tips on how to better plan and divide your home.
