Mint Tea is a popular herbal tea, often used to make frozen tea and hot tea. Mint tea has a cooling quality and makes refreshing ice tea, both when used alone or when combined with other herbs or with green or black tea.

Mint Types:
There are many varieties of mint, including both native species, as well as hybrids and cultivars. Spearmint (Mentha spicata) and peppermint (Mentha x piperita) are the most common types of mint used in tea. Apple Mint (Mentha suaveolens) is also common, and resembles spearmint in taste even though it has hollow leaves. Usually when the word "mint tea" is used and no mint is specified, spearmint tea says. The mint family also contains a number of other types of tea used, including lemon balm, oswego tea, and many herbal remedies. Plants such as pineapple mint and orange mint can also be used in tea, although they are not widely available commercially.
Health Benefits of Mint Tea:
Many minutes have many traditional healing activities. Research into the health benefits of mint tea is limited and few man-made studies - not fully known the various benefits shown in laboratory studies actually transmit to people who drink mint tea. However, there is initial evidence to suggest that mint can have various benefits:
Income Caffeine - Like most herbal teas, all plants in the mint family do not have 100% caffeine.
Antioxidants - Spearmint, peppermint, and other mints have been found to be rich in antioxidants, a broad class of chemicals that are thought to promote good health by preventing physical damage and protecting against cancer and tumors.

Absorption of iron - There is evidence that mint tea can improve the body's ability to absorb iron. In the Middle East, it is common to drink black tea and spearmint. Black tea is known to inhibit iron absorption; mixing mint with black tea can reduce these effects.
Antibacterial and anti fungal activity - In vitriol studies have found spearmint, peppermint, and other mints to prevent the growth and death of harmful bacteria, including MSRA (a dangerous form of antibiotic-resistant). Spearmint has also been shown to prevent the growth of a number of harmful fungi.

Benefits of the stomach and intestines - Peppermint is traditionally used to relieve diarrhea and treat certain intestinal problems. There is some evidence that it is effective in treating irritable bowel syndrome
It is not yet fully clear the extent to which these health benefits are available to those who drink mint tea. Other human experiments have been performed using concentrated essential oil tablets, which may lead to greater concentration than can be found in mint tea
