Batteries can be of a lead acid type or a gel cell type and are usually purchased as a supplement. Battery chargers, or integrated or separate units are generally included in the purchase price. Make sure you buy the right type of battery as chargers may target the type of battery (lead acid or gel) although some chargers have a dual purpose. Both independent and integrated chargers have advantages and disadvantages. The main charger is fine but if it does not work properly the whole scooter must be returned for repair. A stand-alone charger has great power but is easily replaced if needed.

Controls

Six taps are the most common types of controls but pleasure handles and loop handles are also used. A toy stick attached to an armrest may be more suitable for someone with limited thumb movement or strength.
