1. Your accounting career begins at the high school level. Make sure you get high marks in math. You should also take electives in accounting, economics and advanced statistics if you can.

2. Ask for advice from your school career counselor.

3. Join math clubs or organizations to improve your knowledge and experience. If you have economic or business school associations, join them. Be busy and participate in all the activities of the organization.

4. Some schools offer you internships in local businesses and companies. Take these opportunities to learn and learn more about how a business works, and how accounting works.

5. Choose a good college or university where you can get your accounting degree. Make sure your choice of school will be able to meet the requirements of accountants in the region in which you wish to work. Write application letters and collect college textbooks before the start of your fourth year of high school.

College Level


1. Decide if you want to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). To become an accountant without a certificate, all you need is a two-year degree. To become a CPA, you will need a four-year degree. Obtaining a CPA license will be discussed below.

2. If you decide to become a licensee, check that your course meets the licensing requirements for the region in which you wish to be accredited.

3. When you are in college, it is a common idea to take an accounting degree and do an accounting course. You can also take business courses but take as many accounting courses as possible.

4. Decide on the accounting field. You can choose from the following:

* Public Accountant. It performs many accounting services for companies and private organizations, usually through taxes, audits, and the like.
* Forensic Accountants. They investigate complex financial transactions and even explain deficits.

* Managing Accountants. These are investors who work within companies by recording, analyzing, budgeting and managing the assets and expenses of the organization.

* Accountants in the Public Sector. Accountants work for the government and inspect and evaluate government institutions and organizations whose activities are subject to federal and tax law.

* Coordinator. These accountants provide advice when it comes to employee health care benefits, projects in accounting processing systems.

5. Enroll in internship programs or take part-time jobs in accounting companies. The sooner you begin to have real knowledge of your chosen career, the more you will be able to qualify to take the CPA license exam.

6. Get acquainted (gain, obtain) with present-day software.

How to become a CPA


Not all accountants are CPAs, but all CPAs are actors. A CPA is different from a person with an accounting degree in many ways. Namely:

1. CPAs must take a four-year accounting course (or equivalent number of units) or a program that is recognized as eligible for licensing tests in the country in which you wish to be accredited.

2. You will need some years of experience working as an accountant before you can take a license exam. The number of years required depends on the circumstances in which you wish to obtain a license.
3. After that you will need to pass the license test.

4. Once you are a CPA, you will need to take a Continuing Professional Educational (CPE) course to stay informed of career advancement.

5. CPAs usually earn higher than accountants, and those who enter into accounting systems often set out to obtain a CPA license within their jurisdiction.

6. Once you have received your license, you can choose to join a government, an accounting firm or open your own factory.
